![]() For example: when I started the game I focused in being a manipulator. You can't really focus on some stat predicting the impact that will have in your behaviour, so you can't really build the personality of the character. The hability tree has no logic with too many options and feels really random. The game has a pretty obvious lack of game mechanics. It overloads the game with insulsive content that makes the story harder to read. ![]() Your retoric brain talking to fisical body and having and argument with your limbic system just have not sense at all. It just does not contribute either the universe, the protagonist construction, personality or the story. Other thing that i hate is the personalization of the different aspects of your personality. Same happens with actions of the characters, you can say "The man acts in a shady way" but if the character in the game does not look shady you will have not this impression about him. The text means nothing, the image is the one that makes that impression and It doesn mind whatever you say about what you can see, "you have to see it". Then you look at the picture and is just a regular mid size church. Let me illustrate it: you can have a text in the side of a picture of an scene that says "And he enters in the most impressive building he has ever been before". The art and the pictures are the lenguage you have to use to make theese impresions. Making descriptions of static objects or actions just does not work in visual media. You have literally dozens of opened quest and every single character opens a new one, so you find yourself lost without any purpose and no direction.Īs well, 40% of the dialogue just does not fit into an audivisual context. It seems that the lore and side quest just not correlate to the narrative and It is feequent that you just go over there talking whoever you come across with no clear purpose. This kind of adult, reflexive and deep aproach in the theme of a game is not frequent and I like it a lot, but the main story does not drive well the universe building. The way the game talks about politics an philosophy is frequently pretencious. Despite being a very good game it is not a masterpiece. I think this game is a good game, but is a bit overrated. Lovely idea for a game, certainly a passion project and well done to the Devs for making it, but I personally can't find the enjoyment in it I end up turning the game off and reading a book instead. I want to enjoy it, but I really cannot bear to play for more than five minutes. I don't know why, but I want to love the game. ![]() People said the deaths were funny or occurred in interesting ways and while it is true for some, a lot of them felt anti climatic and just another feather in the cap of tedium that I felt playing the game. My final gripe is also how easily death can occur via dialogue, and the fact you're left with two choices - start the game again and replay all the dialogue you've seen, or reload a save, feel cheap for doing so and listen to the dialogue you experienced in the lead up to your death. That in itself could be a convincing mechanic, except it often is so boring a check on not going to waste time levelling up that skill to try and possibly fail again. The gameplay itself is also a bit lacking both on terms of direction on how to solve the case and the loose threads you pick up, all tied together by dice roll skill checks, that if you fail can only be retried with a level up of the relevant skill. It makes any sense of a conversation drag as it feels unconvincing that any normal person would talk about these subjects. For me the dialogue is overly pretentious for my mind. ![]() Instead I get a lecture on Marxism and cryptids. I'd find myself speeding through dialogue to get any key information while wanting to move on as I lost interest five paragraphs ago. Except here the bread and butter is a five course meal of extremely over buttered, heavily salted and garnished bread. My problems are with the dialogue, which is unfortunate as that's the games main bread and butter. I got to day two after a bit of a slog of gameplay, only to find it has up to ten days of content and that is dauntingly boring. Finally tried to play this game to completion, after many attempts. ![]()
